Loneliness is a hunger,

Loneliness is a hunger, (meditations, recipes, connections)

Lamb chops -

Spend a few extra $$, buy an expensive cut of meat for one.

Season chops w/salt, chili powder, turmeric, cumin, garam masala.

Sear in a pan, add grated ginger, crushed garlic, green onions, cilantro, a squeeze of lime juice. Cook on high heat.

Serve w/rice, baby arugula, medley of cherry tomatoes, green chilis.

Most importantly, plate it so that it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, like a spread out of Bon Appètit.

Noosa Peach Yogurt -

Eat with a small spoon. Savor. When your tongue meets a sliver of peach, let it lull there, tasting the sweetness, feeling the texture. Do this for every bite, till you are satiated (for now).

Avocado toast w/toasted sesame seeds and gochujang -

This will not photograph well, but it will deliver an explosion of flavor. Creamy, crunchy, spicy, sweet.

Take small bites.

Chew slowly.

Parse out the flavors.

See if you can’t bite into a sesame seed, nutty, delicate.

Mango (ripe) -

Peel and eat -

- Whole over the sink, juice running down your arm

- Slice and serve wrapped in warm paratha

- Over sticky rice, drizzled with condensed milk

- With rice + warm milk

Recall your grandmother feeding you with her hand.

Cry. (This release is good, too.)

Clementines -

Peel + save the rind. (Lay them out in a single layer near a window. Dry + use later in fish curries.)

Peel each segment, gently removing the diaphanous shell. Try not to puncture the pulp. Let it sit on your tongue and burst.

Express gratitude for the growers, the pickers, the transporters, the grocery clerks who brought this to you.

Don’t forget to thank the bees, wasps, and other creatures pollinating the citrus trees.

Brownie bites w/ coconut gelato -

Microwave brownie bites for 20-30 seconds. Count down w/ the microwave.

Breathe.

Scoop gelato on top.

Eat w/ a small spoon, delicate, slow bites.

insatiable.
